(I hope this works - and doesn't bend the rules too much.)

B2MeM Prompt and Category: March 4: Affrettando, A niente, Ostinato, Dolcissimo, Bellicoso, Scherzando, Giocoso, Declamando, Rubato, con fuoco, Leitmotif, Fanfare, Andante, Estinto (ma non troppo), Mano sinistra, Lacrimoso, Piano, Cadence (I suspect there may be one of two bingos in there).
Format: Playlist
Genre: Fanmix
Rating: General
Warnings: requires either a Spotify account or a lot of determination
Characters: Beren, Lúthien
Pairings: Beren/Lúthien
Creator’s Notes (optional): I apologise for everything. Now that I've figured out how to use Spotify, I can't resist the temptation of making fanmixes. I've been sitting on the idea for this one for almost a year, and the "Music of the Waters" theme finally gave me the push I needed. (It's more musical than watery, though). Also answers the SWG's monthly challenge "Breaking Boundaries", because Beren and Lúthien sure break pretty much every boundary in the book...
Summary: 19 20 Songs that, more or less seriously, retell the Lay of Leithian. Hope you enjoy!

Beren&Lúthien - A Lay of Leithian Fanmix on Spotify

1. [Andante]
But still there lived in hiding cold
undaunted, Barahir the bold,
of land bereaved, of lordship shorn,
who once a prince of Men was born
and now an outlaw lurked and lay
in the hard heath and woodland grey,
and with him clung of faithful men
but Beren his son and other ten.

Witt/Heppner – TWELVE

2. [Dolcissimo]
He gazed, and as he gazed her hair
within its cloudy web did snare
the silver moonbeams sifting white
between the leaves, and glinting bright
the tremulous starlight of the skies
was caught and mirrored in her eyes.

Blackmore's Night - SHADOW OF THE MOON

3. [Giocoso]
She gently chid with laughter sweet:
'Come! dance now, Beren, dance with me!
For fain thy dancing I would see.
Come! thou must woo with nimbler feet...

Walk the Moon – SHUT UP AND DANCE

4. [Affretando]
Thus fleeting fast their short hour flies,
while Dairon watches with fiery eyes,
[...]
'the guest is here. The woods are still,
but wait not; for a marvel chill
them holds at the strange deeds they see,
but kings see not – though queens, maybe,
may guess, and maidens, maybe, know
Where one went lonely two now go!'

Helium Vola - SELIG
(pardon my Middle High German, but the lyrics are just perfect for Daeron)

5. [Declamando]
'Thy dearest treasure I desire;
nor rocks nor steel nor Morgoth's fire
nor all the power of Elfinesse
shall keep that gem I would possess.
[...]
death thou canst give unearned to me,
but names I will not take from thee
of baseborn, spy, or Morgoth's thrall!'

Meat Loaf – I'D DO ANYTHING FOR LOVE (BUT I WON'T DO THAT)

6. [Piano, ma non troppo]
'Bring me one shining Silmaril
from Morgoth's crown, then if she will,
may Lúthien set her hand in thine;
then shalt thou have this jewel of mine.'

Shirley Bassey – DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER

7. [Lacrimoso]
A guard was held from dusk to light
about the grey feet of Hirilorn
and Lúthien in prison and forlorn.
[...]
Now clad as in a cloud she hung;
now down her ropéd hair she swung
as light as squirrel, and away
away, she danced, and who could say
what paths she took?

Nicole Kidman – ONE DAY I'LL FLY AWAY

8. [Bellicoso]
He chanted a song of wizardry,
of piercing, opening, of treachery,
revealing, uncovering, betraying.
Then sudden Felagund there swaying
sang in answer a song of staying,
resisting, battling against power,
of secrets kept, strength like a tower,
and trust unbroken, freedom, escape;
of changing and of shifting shape,
of snares eluded, broken traps,
the prison opening, the chain that snaps.

Guano Apes – OPEN YOUR EYES

9. [Fanfare, con fuoco]
Then the gloom gathers: darkness growing
in Valinor, the red blood flowing
beside the sea, where the Gnomes slew
the Foamriders, and stealing drew
their white ships with their white sails
from lamplit havens. The wind wails.
The wolf howls. The ravens flee.
The ice mutters in the mouths of the sea.
The captives sad in Angband mourn.
Thunder rumbles, the fires burn,
a vast smoke gushes out, a roar -
and Felagund swoons upon the floor.

John Williams – DUEL OF THE FATES

10. [Bellicoso]
It was not hid in Nargothrond
that Feanor's sons her held in bond,
who Beren heeded not, and who
had little cause to wrest from Thû
the king they loved not and whose quest
old vows of hatred in their breast
had roused from sleep. Orodreth knew
the purpose dark they would pursue
[...]
But to stay their course
he had no power.

Jimi Hendrix – ALL ALONG THE WATCHTOWER

11. [Affretando, a niente]
Forth there leaped
upon the wolvish thing that crept
in shadow faithful Felagund,
careless of fang or venomed wound.
There in the dark they wresled slow,
remorseless, snarling, to and fro,
teeth in flesh, gripe on throat,
fingers locked in shaggy coat,
spurning Beren who there lying
heard the werewolf gasping, dying.

a-ha – CRY WOLF

12. [Leitmotif]
Whispering low
thus Lúthien spake. On the bridge of woe
in mantle wrapped at dead of night
she sat and sang, and to its height
and to its depth the Wizard's Isle,
rock upon rock and pile on pile,
trembling echoed. The werewolves howled,
and Huan hidden lay and growled
watchful listening in the dark,
waiting for battle cruel and stark.

Frankie goes to Hollywood – THE POWER OF LOVE

13. [Estinto]
Quick as thought
another followed deadly singing;
but Beren had turned, and sudden springing
defended Lúthien with his breast.
Deep sank the dart in flesh to rest.
He fell to earth. They rode away,
and laughing left him as he lay.

Mike Oldfield - MOONLIGHT SHADOW

14. [Leitmotif, Ostinato]
'Beloved fool! escape to seek
from such pursuit; in might so weak
to trust not, thinking it well to save
from love thy loved, who welcomes grave
and torment sooner than in guard
of kind intent to languish, barred,
wingless and helpless him to aid
for whose support her love was made!'

MØ – FINAL SONG

15. [Scherzando, Rubato]
There came a slow and shuddering chance:
the batlike raiment dark and strange
was loosed, and slowly shank and fell
quivering. She stood revealed in hell.
[...]
She let her flying raiment sweep,
enmeshed with woven spells of sleep,
as round the dark void she ranged and reeled.
From wall to wall she turned and wheeled
in dance such as never Elf or fay
before devised, nor since that day.

Meat Loaf – BAT OUT OF HELL

16. [Declamando]
But she wept, for she thought that Beren would surely die; he spoke no word, nor opened his eyes, and new thereafter nothing of his flight. [...] Long Beren lay, and his spirit wandered upon the dark borders of death, knowing ever an anguish that pursued him from dream to dream. Then suddenly, when her hope was almost spent, he woke again, and looked up, seeing leaves against the sky; and he heard beneath the leaves singing soft and slow beside him Lúthien Tinúviel. And it was spring again.

Bonnie Tyler – TOTAL ECLIPSE OF THE HEART

17. [Mano sinistra]
Then Beren led Lúthien before the throne of Thingol her father; and he looked in wonder upon Beren, whom he had thought dead; but he loved him not, because of the woes that he had brought upon Doriath. But Beren knelt before him, and said: 'I return according to my word. I am come now to claim my own.'
And Thingol answered: 'What of your quest, and of your vow?'
But Beren said: 'It is fulfilled. Even now a Silmaril is in my hand.'
Then Thingol said: 'Show it to me!'
Then Beren put forth his left hand, slowly opening its fingers; but it was empty. Then he held up his right arm; and from that hour he named himself Camlost, the Empty-handed.

Michael Bolton – GO THE DISTANCE

18. [Bellicoso]
Therefore, since daily Carcharoth drew nearer to Menegroth, they prepared the Hunting of the Wolf; of all pursuits of beasts whereof tales tell the most perilous. [...] Swiftly Beren strode before him with a spear, but Carcharoth swept it aside and felled him, biting at his breast. In that moment Huan leaped from the thicket upon the back of tghe Wolf, and they fell together fighting bitterly.

Rainbow – RUN WITH THE WOLF

19. [Leitmotif]
For the spirit of Beren at her bidding tarried in the halls of Mandos, unwilling to leave the world, until Lúthien came to say her last farewell upon the dim shores of the Outer Sea, whence Men that die set out never to return. But the spirit of Lúthien fell down into darkness, and at the last it fled

Greta Salóme & Jónsi – NEVER FORGET

20. [Leitmotif, Cadence]
For Lúthien wove two themes of words, of the sorrow of the Eldar and the grief of Men, of the Two Kindreds that were made by Ilúvatar to dwell in Arda, the Kingdom of Earth amid the innumerable stars. And as she knelt before him her tears fell upon his feet like rain upon the stones; and Mandos was moved to pity, who never before was so moved, nor has been since.

Beren & Lúthien inspired music. Some interesting classic hits.
I had a snigger at Diamonds are Forever....but yes!
Great idea and suggestions.

Not quite determined enough for twenty songs, but I do appreciate how you put this together! ("Bat out of Hell"!!)
I also like your stylish graphic. (But I may have said so before.)

(I got some new songs I liked out of tracking some of your Maedhros fanmix).
