Summary: Bilbo is watching the clouds

Bilbo lay on his back on the warm grass and looked up at the sky.  A small fluffy white cloud was drifting across.  He watched as a second cloud came chasing after it.  He smiled, the clouds reminding him of Fili and Kili, rushing around, apparently aimlessly.  They were joined by a number of other clouds, jostling each other, just as the dwarves would amicably jostle amongst themselves.  And then finally, a dense black cloud appeared, causing Bilbo to jump up in a hurry.  It would be wise to get under cover before the Thorin of clouds rained on him.

we're glad of that! By we I mean me and Donut. My seagull-muse and I would love to watch the clouds with Bilbo, but we have way too many Thorin-clouds out our way to do that outside, so we'll watch inside instead!

(Donut hopes Bilbo managed to cook a nice fish or something once he escaped the Thorin cloud, cloud-watching must be hungry work for a hobbit)

I was watching a few clouds through my window as I wrote this. The blue sky didn't last though.

Tell Donut Bilbo went to see what Bombur had cooked for supper.

Donut's very glad to hear it! Maybe Bombur cooked up a nice plate of "fish chips"! (I'm still trying to convince Donut that conjunctions are a necessary part of speech, but as long as I know what he means, I guess, the "and" is implied! Heh :) )

Ahh, charming! I love this glimpse into Bilbo's imagination and memory; I'm glad it's without (obvious) bitterness, and the Thorin cloud did make me chuckle.
