Because it clearly was a good idea! I love the very different costume designs and Elrond's super-serious face, as if he's focusing intensely on the dance steps and telling himself not to trip up!

I spent a lot of time looking up different clothing styles until I found something that fit. I wanted something simple and flowy for Lórien style, and something that looked more rustic and practical for Elrond (he's supposed to be paying homage to his Mortal heritage here).

He's a little preoccupied... he has Galadriel mentally telling him what she'd do if he ever hurts her daughter and Celeborn doing the 'I'm watching you' hand signs whenever their eyes meet XDD

I love it! It's so great when the fashion choices we make for our interpretations of Middle-earth aren't just "what the movies prescribed" (not that the movie costumes aren't great - just that they aren't the only option!), and I love the thought you put into it. Aside from paying homage to his Mortal heritage, Elrond's costume also reflects the... how do I say it? more worldly nature of Rivendell.

Heh! Yeah, not the most easy-going parents-in-law to deal with! Celebrían's got it easier in that respect... XD

I always use the movies outfits bc I'm lazy and just hint at clothes more than anything lol I think movie!Rohirrim style is spot on, and I like the elven style but there should be more differences between rivendell and lorien. Elrond on his own would have had influences from all over the place. I like the idea of him favouring men's clothes. Also, imagine the brooch holding the cape is the star of feanor (no one will convince me he didn't love both maedhros and maglor).

Celebrian is just amused bc she knows her parents are just messing with elrond and she thinks her future husband is smol and adorable and she'll rock his world 😆
