The Scribe
I am the historian
the watcher of time
I decide the winners
and vanquish the losers with the stroke of my quill
Parchment is my battlefield
ink, bloodshed
my pen is my sword
by far mightier than Orcrist and stronger than Glamdring
I affect the youth
from servant boy to princeling
Who can argue with the written word?
Who could deny a law or custom once bound?
I am the undertaker
I buried them all
Sometimes twice
I am the linguist
I speak all tongues
some better than others
I trained myself not to shudder at the black speech
I hate rewriting pages ruined by a shaky hand
I am the voyeur
the storyteller
the unknown
the hated
the beloved
the loney one
I am the scribe.

...which is very ominous. I hope the scribe can keep their objectivity, and present the facts as facts. I wish her the best.
