To offset any heeby-jeebies inflicted by that last one I posted:
B2MeM Challenge: B7, Aspects of Aragorn: “Wooer”
Format: Double Drabble
Genre: Fluff/Romance
Rating: G
Warnings: Nah, not this time.
Characters: Estel, Gilraen, Unnamed Elf Maiden
Pairings: Yes. See Characters. ;)
Summary: Love as yet undeclared and unrequited...
Estel paced back and forth with such agitation that Gilraen put her book down. “Estel! What has you in such a state?”
He glanced her way, blushed, but simply shook his head and kept pacing. He cracked the knuckles on his left hand.
“Estel, sit down and tell me what’s troubling you.”
His cheeks turned rosy, but he flung himself into the chair opposite. “I... it’s...” The rose hue turned fiery red and spread to his hairline. He wouldn’t meet her eyes, focusing instead on the apparent sudden and severe onset of an invisible hangnail.
She hid a smile and picked up her book again. After a moment, she casually asked, “Is it a girl?”
He squirmed, then finally nodded.
“Does this maiden have a name?”
A shrug. More tugging at the invisible hangnail. “I don’t know. I mean, well, yes, I am sure she has a name. But I don’t know what it is.”
“Shall I ask Master Elrond? T’would be easier to woo her if you knew her name.”
“No!” Estel leaped to his feet, horrified. “Mother! No!” If possible, he turned deeper crimson and hurried out of the cottage.
Gilraen laughed softly. Thirteen was such a difficult age.
