B2MeM Challenge: Maglor has stopped playing music, and Fingon, here for a trip, is worried and tries to reach out to him. I'd love anything hopeful and optimistic, but dramatic and angsty goes, too. :D I love to see these two interacting in meaningful ways. ([livejournal.com profile] maglor_20)

Format: ficlet (c. 280 words)

Genre: hurt/comfort, friendship; dialogue only

Rating: General (with hints of PG)

Warnings: reference to canonical battle

Characters: Fingon (Q. Findekano), Maglor (Q. Makalaure); reference to Maedhros (Q. Maitimo)

Pairings: n/a

Creators' Notes (optional): small tweaks to the prompt--excusable ones, I hope

Summary: First Age: The Noldor, not so very long after their arrival in Beleriand, have won a major battle against Morgoth: the "Glorious Battle" (Daglor Aglareb). At the victory celebrations, Fingon misses his cousin Maglor and seeks him out.

B2MeM Challenge: "Any kind of fanwork - story, art, craft - show us or tell us about a book/scroll/manuscript from Elrond’s library. […] Anything goes here, provided it centers around anything that has to do with the Library of Rivendell."

Format: Short story
Genre: Humour
Rating: G
Warnings: None
Characters: OC, Arahael (the first of Aragorn's ancestors to be fostered in Rivendell), Aragorn-as-Estel
Pairings: None. Well, except for silliness.
Author's Notes: This story is what happens when a sleep-deprived children's librarian reads a prompt set in a library. Fortunately the prompt says "anything goes," or I'd be apologising even more for this story than I am now.

Summary: "Tegoldir was saving the kingdoms of Men, when a tiny example of those people appeared at his elbow, sucking on a honeycomb." An assistant junior librarian of Rivendell, already sore beset by the classification challenges posed by Men, struggles to find stories that will entertain very small Heirs of Isildur over the years.

1. Our 2015 AO3 subcollection is open! Previous years' subcollections will be available soon in the same overall B2MeM collection. (2014's is available here as a separate collection.) Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] lignota for creating the collection. ETA: Here's how to post to a collection.

2. We've had a report of a bug that affects posting to the [livejournal.com profile] b2mem community. When using the "Post to Community" link at the top of the community, it is possible to receive an error message of "Password Missing."

The workaround is going to the regular Post New Entry page and selecting b2mem from the dropdown menu. The entry should post fine and appear in the community.

3. We welcome anonymous comments from participants who do not have LJ accounts and do not wish to use OpenID. (LJ also allows log-ins with Facebook, Twitter, and Gmail accounts.) However, we require ‘anonymous’ comments to be signed. (For example, if your username on AO3 is FrodoFan1, then sign your comment with FrodoFan1.) Anonymous comments are automatically screened before they appear in the community, and unsigned comments will not be unscreened.

B2MeM Challenge: After Tom Bombadil rescues the Hobbits from the Barrow-wights, he carries treasures from the barrow of the Last Prince of Cardolan, and picks a blue brooch to take home to Goldberry. His comments indicate that they knew the woman who bore it, and I'd love to know more about her, about the Cardolan culture of her time, how she met Goldberry and what their relationship was. Either gen or femslash would be great, and I'd prefer it if Tom Bombadil didn't come into the story too much. -[livejournal.com profile] ladyelleth

Format: Short story

Genre: General

Rating: PG

Warnings: oblique references to violence, rape, and domestic abuse

Characters: OFC, Goldberry

Pairings: OFC/OFC

Creators' Notes (optional): Goldberry’s and Idhril’s conversation about Tom is intended to mirror Goldberry’s and Frodo’s, and some of the details of the house were snitched from FotR.

Summary: The queen of Arthedain is rescued by a stranger. Random conversation ensues. (AKA there isn't much plot the backstory makes up for it?)
