Characters: Tar-Míriel, Sauron, OCs
Pairings: none
Summary: What the Queen does and leaves undone, the day before the Downfall of Númenor. The Armada sets sail, and Míriel waits for the shape of their doom to reveal itself.
Notes: I originally wrote (most of) this for the “seduction” prompt back in B2MeM 2011 (!) but I didn’t manage to finish and post it until now. *hangs head* (The seduction is not physical, in case anyone is concerned by looking at the character list!) But it could fit under this year’s prompts for Day Four (Ban of the Valar) and Day Five (Castle of the Sea/the Armada), and I really want to use the lovely icons, so I will say that it does. I think it also fits in with Dawn’s mention of Isildur in today’s task, with the theme of not quite doing things in time.

Profanation by Dwimordene
Author: Dwimordene
Summary: Economic Imperialism does Middle-earth 3. Piety does not justice make.
Rating: T
Characters: OCs
Prompts: Day 15 prompt: "But in the midst of the land was a mountain tall and steep, and it was named the Meneltarma, the Pillar of Heaven, and upon it was a high place that was hallowed to Eru Ilúvatar, and it was open and unroofed, and no other temple or fane was there in the land of the Númenóreans."
Personal Insanity Prompts: From Himring: “We're sort of encouraged to believe that "the Meneltarma ritual" was the right approach for the Numenoreans and falling away from it was heresy. Is that so? Yes/No/Maybe/Sometimes? Additional elements: a descendant of the House of Beor who is not of the line of Elros (such as e.g. Erendis), a mallorn nut.” Linda Hoyland asked for justice, the economy, and kaftans (okay, and also Faramir and fatherhood, which didn’t happen).

Maybe I didn't want to think of a title?). I hope seeing those Bingo card prompts again doesn't give anyone bad memories.

Memories - Linda Hoyland
B2MeM Challenge: Vanity
“"He it was that now rode out, and with him came only a small company of black-harnessed soldiery, and a single banner, black but bearing on it in red the Evil Eye. Now halting a few paces before the Captains of the West he looked them up and down and laughed.
'Is there anyone in this rout with authority to treat with me?' he asked. 'Or indeed with wit to understand me? Not thou at least!' he mocked, turning to Aragorn with scorn. 'It needs more to make a king than a piece of elvish glass, or a rabble such as this. Why, any brigand of the hills can show as good a following!'"
"And last of all the mounting wave, green and cold and plumed with foam, climbing over the land, took to its bosom Tar-Míriel the Queen, fairer than silver or ivory or pearls. Too late she strove to ascend the steep ways of the Meneltarma to the holy place; for the waters overtook her, and her cry was lost in the roaring of the wind."

I have a question-- do we just use the icon/banner and post an entry that we have read a story from B2MeM in order to promote the story as well? Thanks!!!
