B2MeM Challenge: N43 – Gondorian History- The Fall of Minas Ithil
Format:  Drabble
Title:  To Mourn and to Hope
Genre:  General
Rating: G/K
Warnings:  None.
Characters:  The City
Pairings:  None
Summary:   If the city had a voice, what might she say about the invasion of evil?

The families I sheltered have finally fled; mere footsteps, it seems, ahead of the evil which battered at my gates.

Darkness vile crawled over the mountains, through passes thought unreachable, in the guise of orcs and worse.  My houses stand empty, barren of laughter and goodness.   The gardens wither at the touch of black breath, and the greatest treasure of all is fallen; hewn without mercy, and desecrated.

But he, Isildur, did repeat history and, before he left, again carried away a seedling in hope.

Yet I remain, although poisoned with foulness, in hope that light and life will return.

I loved the POV here. I always enjoy it when someone writes from a different perspective.
