Date: 2016-02-29 09:45 am (UTC)Location (as general or specific as you prefer): suburb of Colombo, Sri Lanka. Colombo, in case anyone's interested, is the largest-but-not-very-large city in a tiny-but-not-very-tiny island in the Indian Ocean.
Favorite characters: All the female characters in the legendarium, plus Finwions? If I have to be more specific, I'd say Indis, Goldberry, and Númenórean women.
How you participate in fandom (fic reading or writing, art, etc.): Writing, edits and art mostly when nudged by events, fests, and exchanges, because I have zero motivation even for things I love doing, although I do generally post one or two ficlets a month. I read obsessively, whenever I can (and, as an aside, my goal for B2MeM is a review a day, because I have a backlog of fic I adore but were too shy to review when I first came into the fandom).
Main interests in your Tolkien fanworks (characters, races, relationships, etc): Femslash! Femslash and female characters.
Link(s) to your fanworks (SWG, MPTT, DeviantArt, AO3, etc.): SWG (http://www.silmarillionwritersguild.org/archive/home/viewuser.php?uid=564), AO3 (http://archiveofourown.org/users/The_Wavesinger), and what little gen I write MPTT (http://www.lotrgfic.com/viewuser.php?uid=367).
Other fandoms you participate in: I'm taking a plunge into the Star Wars fandom right now, and other than that...Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra, probably, and maybe some others I've written fic for? I'm ridiculously multi-fandom but I mostly write/make Tolkien things.
Other sites you use (Tumblr, Dreamwidth, etc.): I'm the-wavesinger (http://the-wavesinger.dreamwidth.org) on DW and my main fannish haunt is Tumblr, where I lurk, again, as the-wavesinger (http://the-wavesinger.tumblr.com).
Non-fandom interests: Reading. Reading everything and anything I can get my hands on, but more specifically, poetry (and currently leaning towards mid-1900's and late Victorian, but it's anything goes), fantasy, some types of science fiction, and historical fiction. Other than that, I love music, and am...capable at playing the piano. I am a compulsive hoarder, mostly of books. I love anything to do with horses, although I'm currently unable to ride, as the only non-racing, non-private stables in Sri Lanka packed up and moved half a country away.
How often and what do you post: I'm not very active on LJ and DW—I only post things which are too private for Tumblr, and these are posted under f-lock. Oh, and exchange letters on DW.
How often you read your friends-list and/or comment: On LJ and DW—it depends. Sometimes I obsessively go through my flist every few hours. Other times, I can go for a week or two without checking. I comment when I can/when I have something to say. On Tumblr, I usually check my dash a couple of times day. (I'm currently on holiday until mid-June—read: no exams and formal school, but still too many things to do—so I'm more active right now, but this is what is usual for me.)
Friending policy: On LJ and DW, I friend back (except in certain circumstances I'd prefer not to talk about), but I am usually not the one to make first overtures—am shy as a mouse! On Tumblr (which is less personal, for some reason) I try to follow back Tolkien blogs, but my dash is very clogged up, so if there are lots of edits/gifs with very little fandom-related text, I might be tempted to skip, although it's more likely that I forgot to follow back! I'm friendly though (I hope!), so if anyone shoots me a message I will definitely fix that!
To finish off: what’s your favorite Tolkien quote? *flounders* How to choose? If I have to, then I'd say “Many that live deserve death. And some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them?”
