Creators' Notes: Yet another WIP that I didn’t post at the time! I should call this a fusion rather than a crossover, I suppose. The story is loosely based on the poem “The Phantom Ship” by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, who states that he derived it from an incident recounted by Cotton Mather.
Summary: The women of Erendis’s household tell each other stories on a rainy day. (Or, a tale from New England retold in Númenor.)

Well, I can appreciate HER preference that such tales not be told in her presence. Poor lady! She already feels that the Sea is her rival for the love of her husband. I always felt that the real problem between the two of them is that they forgot how to communicate between them.

*nod* I do have a lot of sympathy for Erendis, even if it's not clear from this story. When I read about how their relationship became a total trainwreck . . . . shipwreck? I wonder sometimes if there could have been a way to save it.
