Title/Author: Battle of the Golden Wood by Marnie

Characters/Pairings: Celeborn/Galadriel, marchwardens and OCs
Summary: Lorien fights for survival against Dol Guldur, Moria and Mordor during the wars of the Ring.
I've written Celeborn a few times now, and I love him, and it's because of Marnie. Celeborn shines as Lord of Lothlorien here, and the OCs are wonderful and human and real.

Summary: When the Grey Company escapes from the Paths of the Dead with an army of ghosts at their heels, Legolas believes that everyone who entered the Dark Door has emerged again unharmed. He's wrong. Some wounds cannot be seen.
I drew for this story, and it was amazing. Quiet moments, individual fears, hurt/comfort, connection- and all threaded through canon so neatly. One of the best Legolas&Gimli fics out there.

Characters/Pairings: Main OC, but features everyone who didn't sail at the end of the Third Age.
Summary: The King Elessar desires to have a memorial made for the four Pheriannath whose aid helped to win the War of the Ring and led to the destruction of the Ring and Sauron. But as the Pherian Frodo has left Middle Earth, how is it to be done? And then he sees a remarkable statue in the market town of Casistir....
One of the really fascinating OCs of middle earth, and a great outside POV of all the hobbits- and of Aragorn! I have waaay too much fun with Aragorn's identity-play here too. XD It's epic length, but that hasn't stopped me rereading this a few times now.
Title/Author: 'Painless' Series, by Evandar

Characters/Pairings: Thranduil, Legolas, eventual Legolas/Gimli
Summary: : AU. After the Last Alliance, Thranduil found himself pregnant with the child of an Orc. As he struggles to raise Legolas alone and keep his heritage a secret, the line of Oropher begins to crumble under the pressure.
This is darker than the other stories I've recced here, but it's so deeply felt, and so compelling. Half-orc Legolas AU sounds like crack, but this is wrenching and sweet by turns, and I hope every time it updates for Thranduil and Legolas to grow closer again.

Summary: The Fellowship must cross a river before it can enter the land of Hollin, a river that turns out to be the stuff of Samwise Gamgee’s nightmares.
Sam and Legolas are stranded together and have to rejoin the rest of the Fellowship! With dangers, and rescues, and hurt/comfort, and wood-elf Legolas being awesome, and Sam being fantastic. Camaraderie and friendship, to round off with things I always, always love in LOTR fic.
