Back to Middle-earth Month (B2MeM) began in 2006 with an anonymous announcement on LiveJournal that encouraged people to pick a day of the week and post something Tolkien-related on it during March.

There_n_back jumped on board with prompts in both 2006 and 2007. The Silmarillion Writers’ Guild encouraged people to participate in 2006 and began holding events of its own in 2007. In 2009, Many Paths To Tread and SWG coordinated for the first time. In 2012, Arda Inspired on DeviantArt joined in and the B2MeM LiveJournal community was created. B2MeM has been hosted on LJ ever since. Over the past couple of years, we've expanded to other sites. In the summer of 2017, we moved from LiveJournal to here.

b2mem questions

Hi Indy! I just thought of something to do with b2mem.

Once I select my cards, how do I go about claiming them? I understand more than one person can claim the card you choose as well.

Unfortunately, the way we have the form set up doesn't allow for edits, so you'll need to use those two cards unofficially. Sorry!

Hi mods,

I was just wondering, I've got several more chapters of "Arafinwiel's Alphabet" (written for the Alphabet Challenge from a previous B2MEM) ready to post. I've posted them on AO3 up to O, but I've only got up to H here. Should I post the rest of them here? I don't want to interfere with the upcoming B2MEM (which I'm bouncing with excitement for!)

You're welcome to post them here if you want to! If you're planning to post them before March 1st, I would suggest combining those "catch-up" chapters together in one or two posts, especially if they're part of the same story or use the same prompts.

And of course you're welcome to keep posting fanworks for older prompts even after this year's event starts.

I'm glad you're excited for the Bingo! I'm pretty excited for it too.

What Zdenka said. If you want to be sure you won't accidentally confuse anyone, I'd wait until March to post, but it's really up to you.

Yes, indeed! You can keep using the prompts for as long as you want. This community will stay open so you can post them here as you write them, if you want

I have several stories started that I won't finish in time to post during March, but I plan to complete them and post them to B2MeM eventually!
