Player Page Updated!
At long last, the player pages have been updated! Now we can all see how deep we're in it come March you can see the cards you've signed up to play all in one place. All card requests sent by this point should be reflected on your player page. (You can check your player page on the SWG or check your player page on MPTT.) Please look to make sure that you have all of the cards you've requested. My comods and I have received hundreds of B2MeM-related emails at this point, and mixups are bound to occur. If something doesn't look right, either leave me a comment here or drop me an email at DawnFelagund@gmail.com and I will fix it as soon as possible.

If you want to display your cards someplace (like your journal or personal website), you are welcome to "hotlink" to your player page on our server. If you need help doing this, just ask. As you earn stamps, we will update your player page so that you can see your progress (and everyone else's!).

FAQ: "Can I 'Unclaim' Cards?"
I've been asked by a couple of people now about "unclaiming" cards. Some of us went a little claim-crazy at the start of the challenge without realizing how many more awesome cards our card-creators would dream up. So ... can you "unclaim" a card?

Yes, with caveats. First of all, remember, you don't have to play a card, even if you claim it. You might claim 20 cards that look interesting but only have time or end up wanting to write for 2 or 3 of them. This is perfectly okay! :)

If you're absolutely certain that you don't want to play a card, I can remove it for you. However, I have to be perfectly honest that, with the popularity of this event and the constant backlog of BINGO cards and player page updates, this is a low-priority task for me, and the challenge may well begin with the cards you don't want still on your player page. If you want a card removed from your player page, just drop me an email at DawnFelagund@gmail.com, and I'll do my best to get this done for you.

Finally, for the numerically inclined ...

There are currently 52 53* cards available (I have several more that will be posted within the next few days) that were created by 23 different card creators. That comes to a grand total of 1,248 different prompts/challenges!

There are currently 44 participants who have signed up to play. They have claimed a total of 309 cards (an average of 7 cards per participant).

* I accidentally overwrote the Dwarves of the First Age card when I uploaded an old version of the page. Sorry, havamahal!

I believe my updated card list didn't make it onto the player page yet...I theorize you kindly updated my name after my waffling on which form of my handle to go by, and that the cards themselves got lost in the shuffle as it were. =)

[For a second I was like "OH THANK MELKOR THAT MUST HAVE ONLY BEEN A DREAM WHERE I CLAIMED ALL THOSE BLASTED CARDS." But I don't think fate is that kind. =D]

What happens sometimes with the card claim page that might be happening with the player page as well is that sometimes your browser will load the cached version and will not show recent updates. A quick workaround for that is to stick a ? at the end of the URL, like

I'm glad it's correct! :) We're pretty meticulous with record-keeping, but something inevitably slips through the cracks, since there are multiple steps involved.

Actually, I think there are 53 cards - at least they were the last time I counted them. :) The one that's missing is "Dwarves" card. *grins*

Unless you decided not to use it. In that case you're right and it's 52.

Oh no! I'm so sorry about that. No, we're definitely using it; in fact, several people have claimed it already. So it must have been there at one time and may have been accidentally overwritten by the hasty webmaster last time she did an update (that's me. :)

No need to apologise. In that huge pile of cards you have to manage it's easy to miss one or two. The only reason I noticed it was because I was going through the list of cards, which I'd like to claim in the next couple of weeks (even though I already have too many of them!) and noticed this one wasn't there.

A big thanks to all of you, who contributed the cards. They're all so wonderful it's nearly impossible to pick just a few of them. :(

I figured out what happened! I have the claim.php file saved in two places: in my Dropbox folder, so that I can access it on all of my computers, and on my hard drive on my home computer. I added the Dwarves card while at the ski lodge when my husband went snowboarding, saved it in Dropbox, and uploaded it to the site from Dropbox. Then I went home, added the next round of cards to the version saved on my home computer (without adding the Dwarves to that version), and uploaded that version to the site. Grrrrr, Felagund! :D I'm going to delete that extra version at home so it doesn't happen again. There's no need to make myself more likely to make a mistake (and I'm so used to working on the site from my home computer files that I can almost guarantee it will happen again if I don't delete it).

They're all so wonderful it's nearly impossible to pick just a few of them.

That's why you should claim all of them and then join b2memsupport to commiserate with others of us who have ... um, gone a bit overboard.

Have you refreshed your cache with shift F5? Because I do see four cards for you: review a story, economy, sons of Fëanor and Artifacts & weapons.

The reason I haven't claimed any yet is that I've been trying to talk myself into a somewhat-sane number! It isn't going too well.

ETA because I hit post too soon: You're convinving me that I should just claim as many as I want, and do the prompts I can't in March during the rest of the year.

Exactly! And it occurred to me at one point that, since we have so many awesome cards (far in excess of my expectations, where I was thinking I'd be happy if 10 were created besides those made by the mods ... and you've done that many yourself!) that the "infrastructure" is in place to play this whenever we want. Once the "infrastructure" is done, it's actually a pretty easy challenge to run.

This is why I never have any free time, incidentally. ;)

You are not the most claim-happy by far! :D I have a few players who have two player pages because, if I put all of their cards onto one image, Photoshop growls at me when I try to save it in web format. Generally, the tipping point for that is 20 cards, so yeah ... you're not the top of the list for claims at all! :D

(Also, I prefer to think of it as Lyra does, that you're either looking for lots of inspiration or serving as inspiration for those who want to claim more but aren't sure what's too many. :)
