B2MeM Challenge: “Inspired by this post, write an AU in which your characters have to run a spider farm.” -Zopyrus
Format: Short story (~4600 words)
Genre: AU, crack, drama (what a combination)
Rating: Teens
Warnings: Strong language, scatological incident, character death, lots of spiders, shameless contemporary AU. This also seems like the kind of thing I might get taken to task for not adding a beverage warning to.
Characters: Melkor, Fëanor, Finwë, Ungoliant, Námo, Indis, Gothmog. Other Valarin and Finwean cameos.
Pairings: n/a
Creators' Notes (optional): I don’t even know. It’s been fun?
Summary: Melkor, with the aide of the creature Ungoliant, seeks to bring ruin upon Two Trees Spider Farms and the rogue spider farmer Fëanáro in one fell swoop.

“Good luck getting any business here, Fëanáro!” )

B2MeM Challenge: "The forces of Mordor are vast. Such armies require cleaners, cooks, payroll officers and boot-makers. Even the darkest of Dark Lords' Citadels require latrine-emptiers and throne polishers and safety officers who go "tut!" over the lack of hand-rails on Orodruin. What about the stable-boys of the Nazgûl? The third trainee Gollum-torturer from the left? What did the War of the Ring look like to a person (creature?) like this? I expect this will be a humorous piece, but feel free to go serious if you wish." --[livejournal.com profile] rhymer23 "... Any place, any time, any orcish culture - or how about an orc woman re-embodied in Aman (if you go by the corrupted Elves theory anyway)?" --[livejournal.com profile] ladyelleth

Format: Ficlet

Genre: Friendship

Rating: R

Warnings: Mentioned/Implied Rape, Violence**

Characters: OFC, Orc

Pairings:

Creators' Notes (optional):

Summary: An Orc, while on Death Duty, finds an unlikely companion.

B2MeM Challenge: Tar-Vanimelde was the third ruling Queen of Númenor, but was more inclined toward the arts of music and dancing than toward matters of state - but who was she as a person? Did she leave the de-facto rule to her husband because was aware of her shortcomings as a politician and decided to focus on her talents, or did she rely on her royalty to be able to live the life she wanted rather than assume responsibility? Something else entirely? --[livejournal.com profile] ladyelleth

Format: Ficlet

Genre: Political

Rating: PG-13

Warnings: N/A

Characters: Tar-Vanimelde, Herucalmo

Pairings: Tar-Vanimelde/Herucalmo

Creators' Notes (optional): The names Hendrech and Núneth have been taken from Aldarion and Erendis.

Summary: The Ruling Queen of Numenor and her consort discuss Council politics

B2MeM Challenge: Write/draw/create another type of fanwork inspired by this song: "The Riddle" from the musical of The Scarlet Pimpernel. (Lyrics in the video.) http://youtu.be/WAXm2FcEUBw --[livejournal.com profile] lignota

Format: Ficlet

Genre: Romance, Angst, Tragedy

Rating: R

Warnings: Suicide, suicidal thoughts, major character death, violence, PTSD, post-traumatic schizophrenia , projection of post-traumatic schizophrenia, tense changes. Also, incorrect use of musical forms, if that bothers anyone except me (the words are rough translations of a completely different Noldorin version?).

Characters: Fingon, Maedhros

Pairings: Fingon/Maedhros

Creators' Notes (optional): This is what happens when too much studying, exam stress, an entire box of those fancy liquor-filled chocolates, and 3 a.m. in the morning mix. Or, I meant to combine the prompt with another, but this happened.
The Doom, and one or two of the lines (Fingon’s prayer to Manwë), are taken from the Silmarillion.

Summary: Maedhros and Fingon; how they fight, and how they lose.

B2MeM Challenge: "I would dearly love to see a story that revolves around the history of the Elessar jewel, with Aragorn as a focal point. Doesn't mean he even has to be in it but he should have a central importance in the story. I don't care if there is one version of the jewel or two, as you wish. Shoot, you could write a Fourth Age investigation into the provenance of the one Aragorn possesses. Things that have been running through my head that I would love to see if it fits for you: Earendil, Vingilot, the Great Eagles, Celebrimbor, Gondolin, and a hobbit (an adventurous Took?). You could have Merry and Pippin do the investigating after they return to Minas Tirith when they're elderly." (Baranduin)

Format: ficlet, teaser

Genre: gen, gapfiller

Rating: General

Warnings: none

Characters: Aragorn, Gandalf, Pippin

Pairings: Aragorn/Arwen

Creators' Notes (optional): The section of my Elven Glass series on Aragorn, which finally got written thanks to Baranduin's prompt, cross-posted from [livejournal.com profile] lotr_community. The Aragorn section refers to the content of some of the previous sections, but can be read on its own. Thanks to the prompt, there is a bit of helpful input from Pippin here as well, which the original outline did not include!

Summary:

In Minas Tirith, while Aragorn is waiting for Midsummer and Arwen's arrival, Gandalf tells Aragorn more details about the history of the Elessar than he had previously been aware of.

B2MeM Challenge: This is for the shameless self-insert prompt by [livejournal.com profile] binkaslibrary--Come on, everyone does it at some point ;) So I dare you: write about meeting your all time favorite Tolkien character. What would you do if you met him/her? Would you faint? Would you bow in reverence? Or maybe you would throw an inane number of questions about Middle Earth at them... ;) Anything goes! Rating/content/genre up to the writer. Good luck, fellow fans!
Format: Ficlet
Genre: Humor, Fluff
Rating: G
Warnings: n/a
Characters: Frodo, Sam, Merry, Pippin and Me
Pairings: n/a
Creators' Notes (optional): See, originally this was not a self-insert, this was a “someone-else-inserted-me insert” from the incomparable [livejournal.com profile] grey_wonderer that began as a comment fic back in the summer of 2005. It kind of grew in the telling, and became a story known as “The Pepsi Saga”. If you have her friended, you can access “The Pepsi Saga” through my memories (http://www.livejournal.com/tools/memories.bml?user=dreamflower02&keyword=hobbity%20adventure%20from%20GW&filter=all) and the last chapter was really a self-insert, as she allowed me to write it, and it's in my POV. It's called “Night Out at Barnhill's”, and is in my LJ.
And, by the way, this is also a slightly late birthday gift for Shirebound!
Summary: I have another visit from the Fab Four (no, not the Beatles), and they bear gifts and greetings to another mutual friend of ours.
