Also also vaguely inspired by Peter Gabriel's song Here Comes The Flood.

Summary: Vëandis, formerly Lady of Andúnië, has been shipwrecked in Middle-earth. Now she and the other survivors of the Downfall have to find the strength to carry on.

And, knowing this, there is no reason to believe she wouldn’t have at least vaguely known Melian before coming to Middle-earth. (Except that I think Melian left before Galadriel’s time. But I am realizing this just now as I write the Creator’s Notes, so that is probably an error in my writing.) Also, I sort of stole my (heavy-handed) symbolism from Julia Holter, who sort of “stole” it from Etel Adnan.
