Format: Short Story
Genre: Drama
Rating: Mature-ish
Warnings: Some upsetting content, mentions of death (animal and human), and suicidal ideation.
Characters: OFC (Elendil's unnamed wife), Elendil
Pairings: Elendil and his wife, technically, but it's not exactly at the forefront.
Creator’s Notes (optional): I've been meaning to write this story ever since I saw James Turner Mohan's sketch "Out of the Sea I am Come". B2MeM finally gave me the impetus to do so. Also written with the "Hidden Figures" challenge and Legendarium Ladies' April in mind, inspired specifically by an old prompt from 2017, Shipwreck on the Rossbeigh Beach by Eric70. Also also vaguely inspired by Peter Gabriel's song Here Comes The Flood.
Oof, that's a lot of preamble for a short story.
Summary: Vëandis, formerly Lady of Andúnië, has been shipwrecked in Middle-earth. Now she and the other survivors of the Downfall have to find the strength to carry on.

B2MeM Prompt, Card and Number: B9: anto: “mouth”, N44: anca: “jaws” (both from Card 186. Tengwar); also N45: citizen of this fallen city (Card 127. Mary Oliver (1935-2009))
Format: ficlet
Genre: gapfiller
Rating: Teens
Warnings: Reference to canonical long-term imprisonment
Characters: Fingon, Finrod
Pairings: n/a
Creator’s Notes: For the purposes of this ficlet, in the prompt "citizen of this fallen city", the fallen city is taken to be Armenelos. The story is to some extent inspired by a map drawn by bunn of Tirion and her comments on the map.
Summary: There is some suggestion that Tirion continued to be inhabited after the fall of Numenor. How did its inhabitants feel about the fact that Pharazon's army was buried so close to the city?

B2MeM Prompt, Card and Number: O68: perfect commotion of silk (127. Mary Oliver (1935-2009))
Format: teaser
Genre: vignette, character study
Rating: General
Warnings: none (except for a very vague veiled allusion to Thangorodrim)
Characters: Maedhros, OFC
Pairings: n/a
Creator’s Notes: This is a scene that had already been planned for one of my slow-moving chaptered WIPs. I'm glad that I could find a b2mem prompt to push me into writing it.
Summary: Maedhros has persuaded a Sindarin healer to accompany him to Himring to treat one of his people. This is a scene that takes place on the journey. Maedhros and the healer have only recently met and do not know much about each other's backgrounds yet. (The healer goes by the name of Auntie, but this is a bit of a joke on her part, not a sign of venerable age.)
