any character/pairing, good news from across the sea

Any time from the end of the First Age to the beginning of the Fourth Age; someone in Aman receives a piece of good news from east of the sea.

Possible ideas:
1) an ancient elf, one of the original immigrants to Aman, learns that an old friend of theirs who chose to stay behind is still alive.
2) family or friends of a Noldo who followed Feanor learn that he/she is alive. (From whom? From Earendil or Elwing, or Idril or Tuor, or do they have to wait for news from the soldiers returning from the War of Wrath?)
3) Galadriel writes to her parents to announce Celebrian's birth, or even just to tell them about milestones in Celebrian's childhood.
4) Galadriel and/or Celebrian write to Finarfin and Earwen about their great-grandchildren Elladan, Elrohir and Arwen.
5) ????? [your idea goes here!]

(possible ideas for things aside from letters that could be sent to Aman as part of the news: locks of hair, sketches, books, carved trinkets, totally non-magical and non-alarming jewelry...)

I'm writing a book written by my OC Ninnachel (very badly, they're not a writer) and I think I need this prompt for one of the stories they tell in it.
