I was worried about posting this as I'm just starting to do digi art and have probably no technique yet. That said, it was a really good exercise to do as drawing characters out of my head pushes my boundaries.

Thank you, Fernstrike. I have to admit it was hard to do - like pulling blood out of a stone.
I'm going to work through some digital art tutorials next, to see if I can gain some skill with wacom and photoshop.

I like this a lot. The details in the sky and the look of the trees are beautiful, and you make great people. I love the eyes and the look of the arm of Beleg (at least, that's who I'm assuming the blonde is; I'm not familiar with the story).

I love drawing faces, but bodies I need practice on. Now I'm coming back to look at this, I can see my errors.
Making star and branch brushes is easy in Photoshop, but it can't draw figures for you. That's the hard part.
I'm really glad you liked my effort though. Thanks again for your comments. XX

The colouring reminds me a bit of the way colour is used in some works by El Greco--the way the light reverberates.
And also it reminds me of some German expressionist painters--the way that everything seems to be moving, as if with the force of emotion, although the scene itself is so quiet and still.

That's really interesting. Will have a look at some El Greco, as I'm painfully ignorant of the great artists.
I wanted the wind to be blowing the branches and their hair, and chasing the clouds across the moon .
Well, that was in my mind as I drew it anyway. Thanks for such an interesting comment. XX
