B2MeM 2013 is fast-approaching, and we need volunteers to help us make banners and icons for this year's participants! If you have some skill with a digital paintbrush (or a real one!) and would like to help us make banners and icons, check out the guidelines below. Please comment here if you have any questions.
General Participation Banners & IconsWe need a range of sizes and designs of banners for participants to announce their intent to participate in this year's B2MeM. Email any banners you make to me at DawnFelagund AT gmail DOT com, and I will post them to the community for others to use. You will be credited for your work, of course. Please follow the guidelines below.
- Banners must have "Back to Middle-earth Month 2013," "B2MeM 2013," or "B2MeM '13" somewhere on them.
- You may also include the title of this year's event, Back-to-Middle-earth Month Scavenger Hunt: Expedition in the Abecedarium (or a shortened version), but you don't have to.
- Any size banner is acceptable. Icons should be 100px by 100px or smaller.
- Important!!! You must have permission to use any artwork or photography that you use on the banner/icon. This means that any artwork or photography used must satisfy at least one of the conditions below:
- The artwork/photography is your own work, or you own the rights to the work.
- The artwork/photography is in the public domain.
- You have written permission from the artist/photographer to use her or his work, including making modifications, such as cropping or adding text.
- The artwork/photography is clearly labeled with permission to use the work for nonprofit uses, including making modifications, such as cropping or adding text.
- Screen captures from the movies are acceptable.
- Any artwork or photography used must be suitable for all audiences, i.e., it should not include nudity, blood/gore, or anything more than mild sexuality (hugging, kissing, etc.).
- Files should be saved in .JPG, .PNG, or .GIF file formats. Please use the Save for Web feature (or its equivalent for your software), if available, to keep file sizes manageable.
Prompt IconsIf we can get enough volunteers interested, we hope to make icons for each of the prompts. Please comment here with your email address (comments are screened), and I will get in touch with you about this task. Signing up for more information does not obligate you to actually make any icons, so if you'd like to know more, please sign up!
Reading Week Banners & IconsWe will eventually be asking for volunteers to help us make banners and icons for use by Reading Week participants. More information is forthcoming!
Comments are screened. I will unscreen anything that doesn't contain personal information.
