B2MeM Challenge: 2012 BINGO Bash: Economy: "Infrastructure" and Here we come a-caroling: "You might even say it glows" (Sorry, Caranthir); Scientific Achievement: "Print"; Dwarves of the First Age: "Curufin receives Angrist"
Also touches upon the 2009 prompt for March 17, concerning stereotypes.

Format: Drabble Series

Genre: General

Rating: Not sure the xenophobia in this one warrants a higher rating, but let's say Teens just in case

Warnings: Curufin being racist

Characters: Caranthir, Curufin

Pairings: n/a

Creators' Notes (optional): For different B2MeM '12 prompts, I started three separate stories in each of which Caranthir defended the achievements of the Dwarves against critical brothers. I never finished any of these stories and doubt that I ever will, so now I finally condensed them into a drabbles to make up a short series, with Curufin as the offending party each time. Sorry, Curufin.

The 'stereotypes' prompt is supposed to apply to the Dwarves, but meta-wise, I suppose my treatment of Caranthir also applies. ;)

Summary: Curufin is unimpressed with Caranthir's neighbours. Caranthir showcases some of their achievements to change his brother's mind.

B2MeM Challenge: "The Vikings invade Britain" on the Maglor in History BINGO card (an uncalled number, G47), and the 2009 prompt for March 22, the principle of Roman law.

Format: Short Story (1165 words)

Genre: none in particular

Rating: General

Warnings: n/a

Characters: Maglor, Alfred the Great

Pairings: n/a

Creators' Notes (optional):
"According to the Romans, the basic principle of the law is that agreements should be respected under all circumstances. Do you agree with this? Is there a time in your life when you had to break this principle? When someone broke an agreement with you? Now write a story, poem or create an artwork where characters are forced to break this principle."

As a matter of principle, I disagree with absolute principles. ;) "Under all circumstances" is always a recipe for trouble. Which is why I have made a historical character, hm, not break but rethink this principle. Of course, "agreement" is a relatively weak translation...

Summary: Alfred of Wessex discusses his planned legal reform with his harp teacher.
