Creators' Notes: Yet another WIP that I didn’t post at the time! I should call this a fusion rather than a crossover, I suppose. The story is loosely based on the poem “The Phantom Ship” by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, who states that he derived it from an incident recounted by Cotton Mather.
Summary: The women of Erendis’s household tell each other stories on a rainy day. (Or, a tale from New England retold in Númenor.)

Here is a VERY late entry; it is late for the

Summary: Gandalf learns something interesting about Rhovanion in the marketplace. Saruman remains unimpressed with Gandalf’s hat. Alatar and Pallando bethink them of farther lands.

Author's Note: This is rather a pivotal, though not dramatic, moment in my newly-arrived-in-Middle-Earth-wizards story arc.

Most of the chapters, including this one, can work as short stories in their own right; but the whole bloody thing can be found at Many Paths to Tread, filed under the title "Istari, circa 1040.." Sometimes sections go there that I don't end up posting here.

"Well, he is not sharing with us again!"

Aragorn ignored both his brothers with the tolerance of long practice, and continued with his meal.

"The boiled beef is not so bad," Elladan continued, "It is those things." He pointed to some soggy green lumps on the plate.

"They're sprouts," Aragorn said indistinctly, his mouth full. He swallowed. "Barliman grows them himself."

"Well, in that case, you can sleep in his room tonight," Elrohir told him. "They have a most unfortunate effect on you, little brother. They make you windy!"
