Format: Remix
Genre: Family
Rating: General
Warnings: None
Characters: Maglor, Elros
Pairings: None
Creator’s Notes (optional): This is a remix of idahlart’s wonderful comic “What now?” Which you can find here (unfortunately, you will have to scroll through the tag, the quicklinks seem to be broken somehow :c). Specifically, the second part of it (Maglor POV) was written as an answer to her question what we wanted to happen after part 3 of said comic. She kindly permitted me to turn it into an actual fic and post it :3 Also: Beta by Goldilocks, who deserves a medal for putting up with all my last-minute writing this week!
Summary: Elros has found a starving Maglor on the beach. What now?

B2MeM Challenge: 2016 Memories; 2007 Alphabet – like an evil Elrond
Format: Poem – Pantoum
Genre: Um…character study, I think.
Rating: PG
Warnings: Mention of the attack of the Havens of Sirion, though nothing graphic.
Characters: Eärendil, Elwing, Elros, Elrond
Pairings: Eärendil/Elwing
Creators' Notes (optional): This pantoum is rather longer than usual, since it’s based off the ‘Song of Eärendil’. It may be found in Elrond’s Library – on a shelf so high no hobbit can reach it! (That’s what makes him evil. *nods* Hiding poetry from a poem-loving hobbit! Oh well, maybe Aragorn will be kind and fetch it for him? I had a terrible time thinking of a way to make Elrond evil, believe you me. :P )
Summary: Elrond, hearing the Song of Eärendil sung by Bilbo in the Hall of Fire, retired to his rooms afterward and took up his own pen. This is what came out.

"Eärendil was a mariner
that tarried in Arvernien;
he built a boat of timber felled
in Nimbrethil to journey in…”

Title: With Springtime Comes Hope
Author Name: Ignoble Bard
Prompt: Tuilérë
Summary: Elros looks back on a spring day from his childhood with Maglor and Maedhros
Rating: Teen
Warnings: None
Beta: The indefatigable Oshun who not only shaped this story with her beta skills but shaped it with her B2Me entry as well.
Author's Notes: When I heard about the B2Me challenge this year and found out Oshun was writing a winter story I got delusions of grandeur and attempted to write a story that is a mirror image of hers. Her story is the winter and mine is the spring, covering the same timeframe and characters. Whereas she has written from the point of view of Elrond, mine is from that of Elros.

I strongly encourage you to read “A Sad Tale is Best for Winter” here: http://b2mem.livejournal.com/261646.html?thread=3574030 before sampling this tale. I also want to express my gratitude to Oshun for not only sharing her impressive and beautiful storyverse with me, but also for betaing this tale and providing the stunning banners that accompany the story. I dedicate this to her and her tragic, but always fascinating and not beyond redemption, Maedhros.

Title: 1) Title piece, 2) Springtime in East  Beleriand; 3) Springtime in Númenor.
Artist Name: Oshun ([livejournal.com profile] heartofoshun)
Prompt:  Tuilérë
Description: Photo-manipulation of copyright-expired paintings.
Rating: G
Warnings:  None

Artist's Notes: Photo-manipulations of the following works and/or cropping of: 1) The Maying of Queen Guinevere by John Collier, 1900; 2) landscape of Mt. Shasta by William Keith (November 18, 1838 – April 13, 1911), before 1880; 3) The Betrothal, Francesco Beda (1840-1900). I am flattered that IgnobleBard chose to write a spring version, with a different point of view, of my winter’s tale. His is a lovely story

Title: A Sad Tale's Best for Winter
Author Name: [livejournal.com profile] heartofoshun (Oshun)
Prompt: Write a story or create art about the midwinter holiday (Yule or another midwinter holiday of your choosing).
Summary: Elrond looks back on Yuletides past at two distinct periods in his life, nearly an Age and a half apart. “The famous saudade of the Portuguese is a vague and constant desire for something that does not and probably cannot exist, for something other than the present, a turning towards the past or towards the future; not an active discontent or poignant sadness but an indolent dreaming wistfulness.” (In Portugal, by AFG Bell, 1912.)
Rating: Teen
Warnings: None.
Beta: The extraordinarily patient [livejournal.com profile] ignoblebard must have read this five or six times. (I cannot thank [livejournal.com profile] pandemonium_213, [livejournal.com profile] nelyo_russandol, [livejournal.com profile] drummerwench,  and [livejournal.com profile] scarlet1061 enough for reading and offering corrections and suggestions). Any remaining mistakes or poor judgment calls are my own.
Author's Notes: I want to thank [livejournal.com profile] dawn_felagund for the beautiful calligraphy and illumination which she created for this story.

Artwork
Titles: (three works) Pine Cones, Betrayed, and Kissed for "A Sad Tale's Best for Winter"
Artist Name: Dawn Felagund
Description: Calligraphy and illumination of brief passages from the story. The calligraphy utilizes a script I developed based on Tolkien's own writing in the Tengwar of "Namárië" and "A Elbereth Gilthoniel." The illumination is based on a style used in the 15th-century Bible of Borso d'Este. Ink, acrylic, and gold leaf on Bristol vellum.

Title: Ruins and Silence
Author Name: Astris
Prompt: "On the appointed day, on the morning of Midsummer, the trumpets of the Eldar greeted the rising of the sun; and in the east was raised the standard of the sons of Fëanor, and in the west the standard of Fingon, High King of the Noldor." The Silmarillion, Of the Fifth Battle: Nirnaeth Arnoediad
What if the outcome of one of the battles of Middle-earth was different? How would history have changed?
Summary: At the end of the Third Kinslaying, Elwing (presumed dead by most everyone) flees north. Twelve years later, Elros hears word of his mother's survival.
Rating: Teens
Warnings: allusions to violence (kinslayings)
Author's Notes: I most definitely plan to expand this story into a very long and involved AU, exploring the effects of this change in much greater detail. However, for now, Elros and Elwing's reunion may stand on its own.

Warnings: brief mention of deaths of Elrond-Elros' uncles, ambiguous feelings towards Feanorians
Characters: Elrond, Elladan, Elros (posthumously)

Summary: Elros taught him not to disregard all men as lesser creatures.  Yet not all men are equal.  Elrond resented the coming of the horse-folk.
But he taught his son differently, it appears.
Quote: "For the high men of Gondor already looked askance at the Northmen among them...a lesser and alien race."
This had something to do with the L quote, but it go so far away I can't really tell anymore...
