B2MeM Challenge:“Of the Fifth Battle: Nirnaeth Arnoediad” (Alternate Viewpoints), “Crossover with one of your favorite books” (Crossover 1).
Format: Story (2700 words)
Genre: Horror, character study
Rating: Adult
Warnings: Torture, rape, mutilation, character death, largely stream-of-consciousness style narrative.
Characters: Gelmir of Nargothrond, Gwindor, Sauron, bunch o' minions
Summary:  Gelmir, on his way to the incident that shall spark the Nirnaeth Arnoediad, reflects on the circumstances that brought him to this point.  Sauron has a noteworthy cameo because he tends to barge into my writing like that.

Author's Note:  The "crossover" is technically with the story "The Renegade/Le Renégat" from Camus' Exile and the Kingdom, but this mainly takes the form of my shamelessly swiping certain themes, narrative devices, plot and character elements, and putting them in Middle Earth.  I will not claim that my story represents or mirrors Camus' story in any substantive way, but it is meant to have certain striking similarities. 
Since the Professor has been spinning a lot, I figured it was someone else's turn.

Summary: Losing a war and a corporeal form would make anyone cranky.

Author's Note: This story, in a glancing-sidelong-at-the-crossovers-card fashion, contains references to one television show and two movies.  Catch 'em all!

Summary: The Mouth, about to meet the captains of the west, reflects upon his future and his horse.

Authorial Blather!  Knowing me, I’d likely have chosen this character for this prompt regardless–but nonetheless, I wanted to give a shout-out to Starlight, Dwim and Altariel, whose great responses to the Mouth of Sauron prompt on the “March 3019” card might have covertly influenced my choice of character here.

Summary:  Helm's Deep/Destruction of Isengard meets the Indian tale of "The Tiger, the Brahmin, and the Jackal."

Note: I'm not sure if many are familiar with the original folktale, but I attest it is made of awesome.
